NFSMI has revised its signature culinary techniques training for today’s school nutrition professionals and revisited financial management training for school nutrition program managers.
Culinary Techniques for Healthy School Meals is a brand new 16-hour training session designed to help school nutrition teams prepare healthier school meals that appeal to the taste of today's students. Participants will learn information about nutrition, food production, and culinary techniques that will improve their school nutrition programs. May 6-7, 2014, 8:00am – 5:00pm each day.
Financial Management for Managers is designed specifically for school nutrition managers. The training covers a variety of financial management topics including forecasting menu item usage, ways to control food and labor costs, and calculating the cost of menu items. May 8, 2014, 9:00am - 4:00pm.
The training session is free. Training materials and lunch will be provided each day of training. Training sessions will be held at NFSMI, #6 Jeanette Phillips Drive in Oxford, Mississippi.
Participants are responsible for arranging and paying for their own travel and lodging.
